Terms of Service

Effective Date

These Terms of Service are effective as of October 2026 and apply to all users of Retropolis.

Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or playing Retropolis, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not use the game. If you are under the age of 16, you must have a parent or legal guardian review and agree to these terms on your behalf before using the game.

Game Description

Retropolis is a free-to-play mobile multiplayer strategy game where players compete through gang wars, strategic card crafting, and reputation building. The game uses geolocation features and may include optional in-app purchases for virtual items and premium features.

Retropolis also features simulated players operated by the game. They own buildings, appear in the rankings, form gangs, carry out hold-ups and may post short messages or reactions in the public chat. Their behaviour is automated, partly with the help of an AI model that reads public chat messages to choose a reaction. They are not human players: when one of them writes to you, you are not interacting with a real person. The game's rules, gains and losses apply to them as to any other player.

Eligibility

  • • You must be at least 13 years of age to use Retropolis. Users between 13 and 16 must have parental or guardian consent.
  • • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • • Each user may maintain only one active account.

User Conduct

  • • You agree not to cheat, hack, exploit bugs, or use any unauthorized third-party software that modifies the game or provides an unfair advantage.
  • • You agree not to engage in racism, harassment, hate speech, or any form of abusive or discriminatory behavior toward other players.
  • • You must play respectfully and follow fair play principles as outlined in the Conditions of Use section.
  • • Violation of these rules may result in temporary suspension or permanent termination of your account, as described in the Account Suspension section below.

Account Suspension and Termination

  • • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms of Service, engaged in prohibited conduct, or if required by law.
  • • Except in cases of severe violations (such as cheating, fraud, or abusive behavior), we will endeavor to provide you with notice and a summary explanation of the reason for suspension or termination.
  • • You may contest a suspension by contacting us within 30 days of the action. We will review your appeal in good faith and respond within a reasonable timeframe. While we retain final discretion, we commit to a fair review process.
  • • Terminated accounts will result in loss of access to the account and its associated game data, including any virtual items or progress.
  • • If your account is terminated without cause, you may request a refund for unused virtual currency purchased within the 90 days preceding the termination.

In-App Purchases and Refunds

  • • Retropolis is free to download and play. No purchase is required to enjoy the core game experience.
  • • The game offers optional in-app purchases for virtual items, premium features, and game enhancements. All virtual items and currency have no real-world monetary value and cannot be transferred or exchanged outside the game.
  • • Refund requests are handled through the app store where you made the purchase (Apple App Store or Google Play Store), in accordance with their respective refund policies. We honor all refunds approved by the app stores.
  • • For Apple App Store purchases, visit Apple's support page. For Google Play purchases, visit Google Play's refund page. These stores have their own refund windows and policies.
  • • Prices for in-app purchases are displayed in the app and may vary by region. Prices may change, but any price change will not affect purchases already completed.
  • • If you are a minor, you must have parental or guardian consent before making any purchase.

  • • The game is provided 'as is' and 'as available' without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
  • • We are not liable for gameplay interruptions, server downtime, or loss of progress due to technical issues, except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
  • • We strive to maintain consistent service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the game.
  • • We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the game at any time. We will endeavor to notify players of significant changes in advance.

Limitation of Liability

  • • This limitation does not apply to liability arising from our gross negligence, willful misconduct, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including, for EU users, mandatory consumer protection rights).

Dispute Resolution

  • • Before filing any formal legal action, you agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us. We will try to resolve the issue within 30 days.
  • • For users in the United States: any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). You and Voidforge Studio agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted on an individual basis and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action.
  • • You may opt out of arbitration by notifying us in writing within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in the courts specified in the Governing Law section.
  • • For users in the European Union: this arbitration clause does not affect your right to bring claims before the courts of your country of residence, or to submit disputes to the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
  • • Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking relief in small claims court for disputes within that court's jurisdiction.

Governing Law

  • • These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
  • • If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
